New Orleans House

THE DECORATION OF the living quarters above beloved Faulkner House Books, located in an historic 1830s French Quarter townhouse. The project preserved the existing atmospheric character of the spaces with their glittering chandeliers and silk draperies while invigorating them with contemporary furniture, rugs, paintings, and occasional intense colors to create a lively setting for a young family.  Dramatically scaled neoclassical plaster urns add graphic drama to the living room and contrast with modern elements such as painted metal tables and bright upholstered ottoman coffee table.  The eclectic mix of furniture includes mid-century Italian chairs upholstered in silk brocatelle.
