THE DECORATION OF A charming shingled cottage in Mountain Brook, Alabama designed by James Carter Architect of Birmingham, Alabama.  Vivid arsenic green color in both the dining room wallpaper and the paint treatments in adjacent rooms provides a striking counterpoint to an otherwise subtle color palate of soothing grays and browns throughout the house.  In the living room, French antiques with a beautiful patina are complimented with bold neoclassical elements, a modern coffee table, a bright blue collage, and midnight blue French doors.  The master bedroom is light and airy with the addition of pale lilac, and the cozy breakfast room has orange accents.
