Savannah Showhouse

THE CREATION OF A fantasy dining room in Savannah, Georgia for the Southern Style Now Showhouse.  The interior imagined what Madeleine Castaing’s house might have looked like had she lived on the Bayou Lafourche, setting the tone with an exotic early 19th century bamboo and drapery wallpaper recolored in a custom swampy palate. The furniture is a mix of elegant and refined antiques mixed with sturdy robust chairs, antique portraits, and large contemporary art in the tradition of eclectic southern homes.  Warm, rich, and vibrant colors are cheerful during the day and atmospheric at night.  The decor respects yet enlivens its severe and handsome 1850s Greek Revival architecture and provides a robust and suggestive character.
